Defenition Of "High-End Melees"

Now that I think of it, I seem to not have all of the good melees that I thought I had. I thought I had it all with the Bo, Fang Prime, and Dakra, but apparently not. I have a stance for the Orthos Prime, should I get that? Ofc I'll be heading for the Bo Prime, that's the first thing that I noticed. But other than that, should I stick with the Fang P and the Dakra, or should I switch to Orthos? Or maybe even another melee? Should I focus on Oxium to get the Nikana and then the Dragon Nikana? (Yes, my mastery rank is high enough lvl for it)

Side note: I despise hammers, 'sparring', 'fist', and machetes. I love daggers, dual daggers (Excluding Dual Ichor, I don't care what you guys think about it, I don't like em), swords, dual swords, and staves. I wouldn't mind any other weapon.

Quote:
i have two main melees and a fun one. the mains are Dual Ichors with Swirling Tiger and Dakra Prime with Crimson Dervish. Ichors can be used for any situation since poison is a great starting element for combinations. Dakra is used mostly for farming since it is slash with a lot of speed, especially with berserk on it.
the fun weapon is Ankyros Prime, it has a high attack speed, can get higher with berserk, and is fun with a blast build. EXPLOSION FIST!

personally, i didnt care for any of the combos in the polearm stances, they were a bit hard to pull off and didnt really fit my style. this is just my opinion though, so its up to you to see if you like it. if anything, you get to use Orthos Prime for the MR.

the bleeding willow stance is pretty easy once you get used to it. Like all stances

Aeonera wrote:
the 4 best melees in the game ATM are dual ichor, dakra prime, bo prime and dragon nikana in that order. dakra has the highest top dps (about 7.4k) with a Crimson dervish PP/Fury/Beserker build with Rad/viral elemental, but does not reach that top DPS often due to the slow speed of crimson dervish causing it to not crit often. Dual ichor has a bit lower max DPS (~6.8kish) with a PP/fury/zerker/crit dam/crit chan with corrosive modding, but is at that DPS near constantly due to high attack rate and crit chance, also procs corrosive at obscene levels, builds the combo multiplyer faster and copters better. Bo prime can go with either a rad/viral build or a corrosive build, but has far less (4k ish) dps then the top two. Dnikana is a similar story to bo prime but is worse with status/crit chance.

btw a corrosive damage dual ichors build is max damage the highest dps one is gas because the other mods have less damage

Just saying only the poison idea makes sense the other plan old reek the only ok melee is the Glaive Prime at least you can damage the higher end monsters ie 40+ for the low end monsters it is what you play best in and has the most penetration in the game. PLS don't give info on weapons if you have no clue ty.

"PLS don't use words if you have no clue ty" (quote A Lone Tenno 99.224.115.19)

Back on topic, i still think Dakra P. with Crimson Dervish is king damage-wise, even though i enjoy other weapons like the Karyst(but only using homing fang) and the recent Kronen. When coupled with a Warframe that can deal bonus melee damage(Loki, Ash or Excalibur), you can hit consistently for bow-like damage(between 20k-30k), and all the attacks hit multiple enemies. But in the long run CC still wins, so i have to agree(partially) with the Anon talking about the Jat Kittag(any stance is fine, but Shattering storm is a bit better).

dakra was never king, recent testing proved that with crimson, it only received a x3 multiplier, making it actually equal to gram and galatine, since cleaving gives a x4 multiplier

60*3=180

45*4=180

currently scindo holds the highest damage per hit, when paired with cleaving whirlwind, the stance alone makes the entire axe class high end viable

Serro is end game material, 85% proc chance with the 4 event mods (or 70% with only 3) and a very large AoE effect on jump attacks makes this weapon excellent if you want to apply corrosive or viral for very high level content.

In addition to that, the Scindo is painfully slow during broken bull, while the Dakra is faster and has a decent chance to crit(even if you don't mod for it). No matter what, the DPS on the Dakra is still higher(damage per hit is an entirely different matter), and among the weapons you listed the one that gets closer to it, is the Galantine. I loved the Scindo back in U5, but now it's not that great, even with Cleaving Whirlwind.

Hopefully the upcoming buff will fix this, but until then...

scindo possesses the highest damage per hit yes, but not the best dps in the axe class, galatine is in fact better

comparatively dakra and gal can do the same amount of damage, with their stances, roughly same speed, roughly same crit, multihit and range favoring gal

also to note crimson technically only has 1 combo that deals x3, it just so happens its used in the ohers

I don't think any discussion about high end melee is complete unless coptering is factored in. Once you are used to the mobility boost that a high end coptering melee can provide, you can never go back. That eliminates some super-high dps weapons like Ichors, Nikanas, Orthos Prime.

Bo Prime and Dual Zoren appear to be near the top of the list for DPS *and* coptering. Amphis and scoliac are options, but don't have great dps. Personally I decided on Zorens, but am going to give Bo Prime another shot.

More info on which weapons are ideal for coptering: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/213652-comprehensive-melee-20-copter-benchmarks/
