Why does Xfinity have so many outages? ›

Multiple short but frequent outages, however, are likely caused by one of two things: Network upgrades in your neighborhood or faulty equipment or wiring at your home. If the outages are related to upgrades, check your My Xfinity app for more info.

You live outside of our service area. Your address is more than 300 feet from our physical network. We haven't extended our service line to your address. Your property owner, homeowners association or condominium association has an agreement with another service provider or won't give us access to provide our services.

Hand-tighten all cable connections to make sure they're not loose. If using an HDMI cable to connect the X1 TV Box to the TV, confirm that it's plugged into the proper locations. Power on both the TV and the X1 TV Box. Confirm that the TV is set to the proper input.

To see if the Full Network Test is available to you, go to the Xfinity app, select WiFi, select View WiFi equipment and then select Internet Health. If you see a Full Network Test tile, then you're good to go.
